EducationArizona State University - Current Undergrad, Computer Systems Engineering
ExperienceI am currently majoring in computer science at Arizona State. My interest in tutoring began when I helped my younger brother with math homework. I really enjoyed working with him and we both liked the fact that he showed improvement in his math abilities as well. My college major dictates that I have experience in a variety of math related courses, so I am comfortable tutoring students in pre-algebra, algebra, pre-calculus, discrete math, geometry, and calculus. My interests extend beyond math however, so I am also interested in tutoring students in public speaking, computer science, physics, psychology, Spanish, and chemistry, among others. While most students in my field don't have the time or see the value in art, I enjoy taking acting in classes and acting in movies when I have the opportunity to do so. My philosophy as a tutor is to help students find exactly where they are having trouble and helping them get better scores by fixing those specific issues. For most students, the ability to do well in school exists. It may just be hidden away somewhere that a tutor needs to help them discover. Outside of school, I enjoy participating in and watching sports, especially football.
HobbiesIn his spare time, Cruz enjoys watching and playing sports. He is interested in acting.
